Multicultural & Meaningful Swiss Alps Wedding

This Swiss Alps wedding was a celebration of love, laughter, and legacy — unfolding high above Lenk, Switzerland. From the humorous touches to the sentimental details, everything came together to beautifully represent the couple’s vibrant personalities.

The Bühlberg at Lenkhorf: A High-Alpine Retreat

Sitting more than 5,000 feet above the village of Lenk, the Bühlberg blends modern Swiss design with the raw beauty of the Alps. This high-alpine restaurant offers a luxurious yet relaxed vibe, balancing chic interiors and casual touches, just like Julie and Sreyan themselves. The alfresco terrace made the perfect setting for their ceremony with the mountains as their backdrop. 

Rainbows, Wildflowers, and Meaningful Moments

This wedding was deeply personal, with rainbows woven throughout the day as a nod to the bride’s late parents. Before the ceremony, guests were invited to create small rainbow bouquets, each flower representing a blessing for the couple. The bridesmaids then gathered the bouquets and placed them in a vase that stood next to the couple for their vows.

This ceremony was a fusion of Indian and Western cultures, with vibrant Indian dress and a mix of traditions that felt true to the couple. Julie’s brother walked her down the aisle, where she carried a wildflower bouquet that was effortlessly true to the alpine setting. Sreyan was totally overwhelmed by the beauty of his bride. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more emotional, a crystal clear rainbow appeared during the couple portraits and the speeches — the presence of Julie’s parents was truly felt. 

The Personality-Filled Reception

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed Swiss fondue and traditional folk music from a live band. However, it was the little touches that brought whimsy and personality to the day (my favorite!). The couple’s humor and warmth shone through at every turn, from the classic wooden cow favors, to the menus that featured hilarious guest photos tucked inside, to a welcome sign that read: “Welcome to Julie & Sreyan’s wedding, a production of love, laughter and family. Sponsored by cheese. Live from Lenk, Switzerland,” complete with two cows, an alphorn, and a slice of Swiss cheese.
