But wait… you’re about to walk down the aisle and realize you are still wearing your engagement ring! What do you do !?
You would be surprised how often this comes up, it is such a small detail that tends to be overlooked. At the end of the day this is not a deal breaker… let’s be honest, you can wear your engagement ring however you like! There are no rules on this matter but if you would like to follow the etiquette around wearing your engagement ring on your wedding day then read on!
The standard etiquette is to wear your engagement ring on your right hand and then once the ceremony is over you can place your engagement ring on top of the wedding ring. But why in that order? Traditionally, the wedding ring is placed first as it is closer to the heart and then the engagement ring is placed on top to protect the wedding ring.
If you decide to forgo the engagement ring that is a perfectly good idea too! You can store it in a ring box and during photographs have both your rings in there.

Do what feels good for you! This is your day and you do you! If throwing the etiquette book out of the window feels right to you then do it!
